Preliminary Exercise: Introduction to sound post

 Sound is what you hear when you view a film. Sounds tell the thoughts of a characters inner thoughts. Sound skews the  emotional and physical aspects of a character. For the audience, sound in film creates a emotional effect, and illusion, a sense of believing the film's concept, and enhances the movie to the point where the audience can engage with what is the next scene. Sounds connect to what is on the screen and matches the actions of the characters or objects to appear real and in real time. Sound creates a mood for a film, sets the setting, and  rises tension occurring on the screen. hen watching a film you will indeed hear dialogue, music , and sounds. Dialogue is a conversation happening between characters in the film. It engages he audience to what the characters are speaking about, so they can be informed n their emotions and actions. Sound effects are sounds pre recorded to make a story, excluding dialogue or music. Sound effects enhance a film by portraying what the setting is, matches the on screen actions, and create sounds that cannot be done in real life. Music is vocal or sounds produced by instruments put together  to create a harmony. Music in film narrates a character, set the time and place of a scene, gives continuity  through edits, and adds drama to scenes.  The two types of sound in film are diegetic and non diegetic. Diegetic sound is when a character and the audience can  hear in the story world. Non Diegetic sound is when only the audience can hear it such as voiceover for the audience.
