Preliminary Exercise 6: Digital Camerawork Organizer: Camera Composition

 Camera Composition refers to the way elements of a scene are arranged in a camera frame. The eight shots include: Rule of thirds, symmetry balance, asymmetry balance, point, shape, leading lines,  shallow, and deep focus shot. Shape Shot are shots where shapes are present its purpose is to catch the viewers eye. This example of shat shot is a bench that shows a squiggly shaped line going through the rectangles of the seat, Point shot is looking into the characters perspective the purpose is to cast  an illusion of access to a character's inner life. In this example of point shot Mel is focused in on with her being in the middle and a crowd standing around her looking at her while she stares around looking for something. My teacher assigned us in groups to create a powerpoint that includes shot camera composition and its various examples. In this assignment I worked with Melanie A, Valentina P, Anjuel C.  Camera Framing refers to how you place or position subjects  and objects in shots. The eight camera framing shots consist of: One, two, three, four, crowd, over the shoulder, point of view, and insert shot. Over the shoulder shot is a shot is when  the camera is placed just behind  an off screen  actor so that their shoulder  is in the frame while  you capture the on screen actor's coverage. Its purpose is to orient the viewer and show a conversation. In this example of over the shoulder shot Mel and Anj are conversing this is shown by the camera being placed at anj's shoulder and showing Mel's full face  looking and smiling at him. Point of view shot shows what a character is looking at and  its purpose is to accentuate the subject perspective. In this example of pov it shows melanies hands on the camera indicating that she is going fall by her shocked face. Preliminary Exercise 6: Digital Camerawork Organizer: Camera Angles

 Camera angles marks the location at which the camera is placed to take a shot. The nine camera angles include the following : High angle, overhead level, cowboy/ hip level, knee level, aerial level, eye level, low angle, ground level, dutch level. The cowboy/hip level angle is when the camera height is about the subject's waist or hip level, it intensifies the moment of pulling out the gun in a duel scene. In this example the angle shows an officer holding his walkie-talkie the cowboy shot shows the walkie-talkie on his hip and him reaching for it signaling that he is going to speak on it. Dutch angle is a camera shot with a tilt on the camera rolls axis it is supposed to make viewers feel uneasy. In this example of the dutch angle,  the camera is tilting indicating that the boy is about to fall.
