Research Exercise : Acting

Acting is the art of human representation. Acting is significant to film production because it shows the actor's abilities  and interactions in the scenes. Acting has five elements: actors appearance, facial expression, body language, vocal qualities, and mannerisms of the character. Actors appearance is the actors physical appearance. Facial expression conveys an emotion that tells us about the character and the way they react to a situation. Body language are gestures, posture, and body contact. Vocal qualities are tone of voice , accent, and pace of speech. Mannerisms of the character are how  a character moves can be connected  to their body language.

My media teachers had us get into groups of four to conduct a powerpoint. In the powerpoint I worked with Anjuel C, Melanie A,  and Valentina P.  While working on the acting part of the powerpoint we  listed the five elements of acting and there definitions. I also presented the key definition of acting and its importance to film production. I decorated the powerpoint in the key colors of the movie: red, white, and black.

Conducting this powerpoint made me learn that there are several elements of acting and each one are important to understand setting in film. I learned each definition of the elements of acting and it made me understand film even more and what characters in  films are trying to portray.  Knowing these elements are vital to understand actors acting in film production.
