Storyboard Worksheet #1: Shot sizes and Camera Angles; Shot sizes
Shot sizes are the key concept of this lesson. Shot sizes is how much of the setting is displayed within a given frame. Shot sizes include a range of eight shots: establishing shot, master shot, full shot, long shot, medium shot, medium close up shot, close up shot, and extreme close up shot.
This is a storyboard worksheet depicting the eight shot sizes: establishing shot, master shot, full shot, long shot, medium shot, medium close up shot, close up shot, and extreme close up shot. My group was assigned to create individual stories that illustrate the shot sizes and their action lines. In each eight of the shot sizes my group came up with the story, documented the action lines, then drew the story while illustrating the shot sizes.
This assignment helped me learned what the eight shot sizes look like and how to relates them and express them in real life stories. The assignment made me realize the effect that shot sizes have on the emotion and message of the scene. The assignment is necessary to learn the meanings of films.
